  • EchoStars needs Volunteers

    The next event for EchoStars begins this weekend with the Farnborough Autumn Open Garden and ends on Mothers day 13th May. Click here to view the newsletter. The garden will open for two weekends. We will have the sewing products on display for sale in the Historic homestead that is one of the earliest homes in the district. We are a small band of workers and would welcome anyone who wants to join us in our mission to change the lives of these children. They are born into the margin of life but with a little help so much hope and opportuntiy can be given to them.

  • Early May Open Garden at Farnborough

    You’re invited to visit Farnborough on the first two weekends of May – Sat 5 and Sun 6 and Sat 12 and Sun 13 May.

  • BrightStars nears completion

    Construction of BrightStars continues with the fifth and final floor nearing completion. This final floor will pave the way for the planned rooftop playground. Expected date of completion is the end of May.

  • Merry Christmas

    The 2011 cultural concert was a joy to attend. So many of the BrightSTARS were in costume and gave a performance that would please any Bollywood talant scout. All the STARS were shining bright with huge smiles as they enjoyed the show . Many of the STARS mothers and fathers attended and of course tears of joy were flowing everywhere.

    Hope you can join us for the Annual Cultural Concert and Open Day on Thursday 8th Dec at BrightStars Dhaka. The children have had a great and joyful year at BrightStars and want to share the culmination of their happy school lives with you.

  • Meet Mr Chips @ Bright Stars Annual School Concert – Thursday Dec 8 ’11

    Come and meet Bangladesh’s very own Mr Chips; Chitto Halder who had a dream to have his own school. Born into poverty but fortunate to receive an education through a missionary school he went on to attain a masters in English. For 20 years he devoted his life to educating other disadvantaged children. Come and share this dream with us as we celebrate the second end of year concert at Bright Stars School Dhaka.

  • EchoBeat ’11 Sunday 13 Nov

    EchoBeat ’11 is hosted in order to raise funds to continue our work in building Bright Stars School. Your attendance will help us achieve our goal to complete construction in 2012 and have the planned medical centre operating by 2013. The Sewing for Sustainability Program products will be on sale. Fun Christmas aprons, tablecloths and place mat sets made from Sari’s, Bed Quilts are some of the items that will be on sale. Every dollar received goes to Bright Stars School as all cost’s are covered by volunteer’s and the EchoStars committee.

  • Volunteer for EchoBeat

    EchoBeat ’10 was a great day with some local jazz and classical musicians performing to an appreciative audience. EchoBeat 11 is set for Sunday Nov 13. $20 ticket includes entry to open garden, concert, and afternoon tea. There will be a BBQ lunch available for purchase. Your attendance will help us finish the construction of the school. Please come along and we promise to give you an enjoyable day and you will be helping us achieve our goal to finish construction by the end of 2012.

  • Spring Open Garden from Saturday September 24th 2011

    Many people visited Farnborough in Autumn this year to see the beautiful gardens in all their autumnal colours.

    Farnborough will be open this Spring on three weekends from Saturday 24 September until Saturday 9 October. All money raised from the $5.00 entry fee supports the EchoStars programs.
